PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed hope that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will play a positive role in the dialogue process, reaffirming that PTI remains ready for meaningful negotiations.
Speaking to journalists in Charsadda, Barrister Gohar said his party had made considerable efforts to bring Maulana Fazlur Rehman into the opposition alliance. He added that PTI stands with the state in the fight against terrorism.
The PTI chairman said imposing governor's rule or declaring an emergency would not resolve the country's problems. He also maintained that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had never issued a statement in support of terrorists.
Barrister Gohar remarked that both the government and the opposition were stuck in a difficult situation, urging both sides to set aside their egos and come to the negotiating table.
He reiterated that PTI remains willing to engage in meaningful dialogue to address the country's challenges.
