BaKhabar Pakistan provides free, accurate online tools to help Pakistanis understand and plan around their everyday financial obligations. Whether you're preparing to file your income tax return, trying to understand your electricity bill, or evaluating whether solar panels make sense for your home — these calculators give you the numbers you need.
Our Income Tax Calculator uses verified FBR slab rates for FY 2026-27, applies the correct Zakat treatment as a deductible allowance under Section 60, and accounts for the Section 4AB surcharge — making it more accurate than most generic calculators online.
The Electricity Bill Calculator supports all 11 DISCOs and applies NEPRA's current slab structure including fuel adjustment charges and taxes. Use the Appliance Calculator to estimate your monthly units first, then plug that into the bill calculator — and finally the Solar Calculator to see whether panels pay off for your consumption level.
The Fuel Prices page tracks OGRA-notified petrol and diesel rates with monthly charts, and the Trip Planner uses current fuel prices to estimate intercity travel costs based on your vehicle's mileage.
All tools are free, require no login, and are updated whenever official rates change.
Are these calculators free to use?
Yes, all calculators are completely free and require no login or registration. Nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere.
How accurate is the income tax calculator?
The calculator uses verified FBR slab rates and applies Income Tax Ordinance 2001 rules — including Zakat as a Section 60 deductible allowance and Section 4AB surcharge. It is an estimate; always confirm with a tax adviser.
Are electricity rates the same for all DISCOs?
Residential tariffs are currently uniform across all XWDISCOs and K-Electric under NEPRA's unified tariff. Fuel adjustment charges may vary slightly by DISCO and billing month.
Are solar panels worth it in Pakistan?
Pakistan has excellent solar potential (5–7.5 peak sun hours depending on city). With rising electricity prices, most on-grid solar systems pay for themselves in 3–6 years, after which electricity is essentially free for 20+ more years.
Do filers and non-filers pay different income tax slab rates?
No. Income tax slab rates are the same for filers and non-filers. The difference is in withholding tax on transactions — non-filers pay roughly double on property, banking, and vehicle transfers compared to active ATL filers.
