A key meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee was held at the Governor House under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Addressing the meeting, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said officials must work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He said the state, federal government and people had placed their trust in them, adding that their performance must be demonstrated within three months. He stressed that the focus should be on practical work rather than photo sessions, and that results must be visible.

Kundi said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had significant resources, including water, low-cost electricity, oil, gas, mines and minerals, tobacco and tourism. He said peace was essential to attract the world to the province. He added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be remembered positively when the history of the country and the province is written.

The governor said there had previously been a lack of coordination between the federal and provincial governments, but there would be no such gap this time and both governments would work on the same page. He added that those unwilling to work alongside the government should be replaced.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said this was the first day he could proudly say that the federal and provincial governments were on the same page.

Naqvi said the same security force and personnel would deliver results when led by the government. He urged officials not to lose heart, noting that difficult times and ups and downs were part of the process, and stressed that everyone must continue working.

The interior minister also said there had been expectations that roads would be blocked and unrest would spread across the province. Referring to messages in which such actions were allegedly discussed, he said the messages were in the public domain and challenged those concerned to assess the situation themselves, including by asking independent observers about conditions across the province.
