Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held protest rallies and demonstrations across Lahore on Tuesday to mark the third anniversary of the arrest of its founding chairman, Imran Khan. Tensions were reported at several locations as police and PTI supporters faced off during the protests, with multiple party leaders and workers reportedly taken into custody.

According to PTI, the party had called for nationwide protests on August 5 to demand the release of Imran Khan. The party maintains that Khan was arrested from his residence in Zaman Park three years ago, describing the incident as a violation of the sanctity of privacy and the home.

Heavy police deployment was observed around the Aiwan-e-Adl (Judicial Complex) and surrounding areas to maintain law and order. Reports indicated that Punjab Assembly member Umar Warraich was among those detained during police operations, along with several PTI workers.

Authorities also reportedly attempted to arrest PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja. However, lawyers present at the scene intervened, preventing his arrest at that time.

According to reports, Mubeen Arif Jutt, Ahmer Rashid Bhatti, and Owais Warraich were also present at the protest site. More than 20 PTI workers were reportedly detained from different parts of Lahore during the demonstrations.

PTI has stated that the protests were aimed at demanding the release of Imran Khan, while authorities maintained heightened security across key locations in the city. Official statements regarding the total number of arrests were not immediately available
