Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced the schedule for the first phase of a long march, with participants from different districts set to join the procession at various points along the route.
According to the announced schedule, the first phase of the long march will begin on October 4 from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat. Caravans from Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bannu and Lakki Marwat will join the march at 1pm. Participants will stay overnight near Karak.
On October 5, residents of Karak will join the march at noon. The procession will leave Karak at 12:30pm and is scheduled to stay overnight near Kohat.
On October 6, caravans from Kohat, Hangu, Kurram and Orakzai will join the march at noon. The procession will then move from Kohat towards Peshawar, with an overnight stay planned near Matani in Peshawar.
On October 7, the procession will depart from Budhni/Badhaber in Peshawar at 12:30pm. Participants from Khyber district will also join the march. Other caravans from Peshawar will join at Kohat Road Bridge and the motorway toll plaza. The participants are scheduled to stay overnight near the Charsadda Interchange.
On October 8, the march will resume from Charsadda Interchange at 12:30pm, with caravans from Charsadda and Mohmand joining the procession.
The schedule further states that people from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will gather at Khairabad on October 8, where they will stay overnight. The next phase of the long march will be announced at Khairabad.
