ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has rejected allegations that his party supports terrorism, strongly condemning the accusations and calling on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to withdraw the statement.

Addressing the issue, Barrister Gohar said, “We have been accused of supporting terrorism, and I reject this allegation. Decide for yourselves whether we are backing terrorists.”

Addressing the prime minister, he said the statement had deeply hurt the party. He warned that the remarks could have implications at the international level, emphasizing that the Pakistan Army belongs to the nation and that PTI members’ lives and future are tied to Pakistan.

“We condemn terrorism in all its forms,” he said, adding that the federal government had put the federation at risk through its actions.

Barrister Gohar questioned the government’s decisions, alleging that the entire government had been brought to an end out of fear of a single meeting. He said that if the party was genuinely being accused of supporting terrorism, the allegations should be addressed with seriousness and evidence.

“If we are supporting terrorism, then hang us,” he said, while insisting that his party could not support terrorism under any circumstances.

He further stated that if PTI members were not considered part of the country, the matter should be made clear, adding that future generations would demand accountability for such accusations.

Barrister Gohar urged the government to withdraw the allegations as soon as possible. He also rejected the imposition of an emergency, Governor’s Rule and the deployment of the military, expressing opposition to these measures.

He concluded by saying that his party would continue to work toward a Pakistan where, in his words, those responsible would be held accountable.
