Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar has filed a bail application before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), seeking release in a case related to the May 9 riots and arson.

The application was filed through his counsel, Barrister Abuzar Salman Niazi.

The plea states that police arrested Hammad Azhar in connection with the May 9 violence case and that his 50-day physical remand was approved by the court.

It further maintains that the investigation against him has been completed and requests the court to grant him bail.

The ATC judge sought the case record and issued notices to the relevant parties, scheduling the next hearing for November 3.
