ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has cancelled the visas of 284 foreign nationals and issued 15-day one-time exit permits to those detained during an operation in Islamabad.
According to sources, the foreign nationals were arrested during an operation at Sparco Plaza in Gulberg Greens. A majority of those detained are citizens of Vietnam, Indonesia and China.
Sources said most of the foreign nationals had entered Pakistan on tourist or visit visas.
Under the Interior Ministry's decision, all 284 foreign nationals will be required to leave Pakistan within 15 days.
Officials said that after their departure, the names of the foreign nationals will be placed on the blacklist and the Foreigners Control List.
According to sources, the deported individuals will not be issued Pakistani visas again in the future.
The action comes as part of measures concerning the legal status of foreign nationals and compliance with Pakistan's visa requirements.
