Key Economic Indicators of Pakistan

This page provides historical data on Pakistan's most important economic indicators. All data is sourced from the State Bank of Pakistan's EasyData portal. Each indicator has a dedicated detail page with interactive charts, historical tables, and auto-generated commentary.

CPI Inflation

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is published monthly by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. It is the primary measure of inflation and the core target of SBP's monetary policy framework. The YoY figure shown here uses the 2015-16 base year.

SBP Policy Rate

The SBP policy (target) rate is set by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) at its scheduled meetings. Changes in the policy rate influence lending and deposit rates across the banking system and are a key signal of the central bank's monetary stance.

Forex Reserves

SBP's foreign exchange reserves measure the country's capacity to meet external payment obligations. Total SBP reserves include gold, SDR holdings, nostro balances, cash foreign currency, and other components. Net reserves with commercial banks are shown separately.
