ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s spinner Abrar Ahmed has lost his position at the top of the ICC T20 International bowling rankings, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan reclaiming the number-one spot.

Rashid Khan currently leads the rankings with 720 rating points, while Abrar Ahmed is in second place with 718 points. The two bowlers are separated by just two points.

Abrar had moved to the top on September 23 after overtaking Rashid Khan. However, following the conclusion of the Asian Games in Japan, he slipped one place after taking just one wicket in two matches.

Among other Pakistani bowlers, Mohammad Nawaz dropped four places to 12th, while Salman Mirza fell seven spots to 23rd.

India’s Axar Patel made significant progress, climbing 16 places to seventh. Bangladesh’s Nasum Ahmed moved into eighth position, while Mehidy Hasan improved by 10 places to reach ninth.

In the T20 batting rankings, India captain Shreyas Iyer broke into the top 10 for the first time after rising 18 places to seventh. West Indies batter Sherfane Rutherford also climbed 10 spots to 37th position.
