The Lahore High Court, while hearing a petition challenging the imposition of Section 144, questioned the petitioner’s counsel over making the Director General Rangers Punjab a respondent in the case.

Justice Farooq Haider directed the petitioner to immediately remove the DG Rangers Punjab from the list of respondents.

During the hearing, the court asked the lawyer, “Why have you made the DG Rangers Punjab a party to this case?”

The petitioner’s counsel also requested the immediate suspension of the notification imposing Section 144. However, the court rejected the request for immediate suspension.

The matter was heard by Justice Farooq Haider at the Lahore High Court.
