ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded a weekly increase in the production of crude oil and natural gas, reflecting improved output from several key oil and gas fields.
According to the latest production data, the country’s crude oil output increased by 1.8 percent to 68,462 barrels per day, while natural gas production rose by 2 percent to 3,088 MMcfd.
The increase in oil production was mainly attributed to improved output from the Adhi, KPD and Sharaf fields, while the Mari, Uch and Shewa fields contributed significantly to the rise in gas production.
Data shows that OGDCL’s oil production increased by 1.8 percent to 35,458 barrels per day. Meanwhile, Mari’s oil production recorded a notable 31.5 percent increase.
In the gas sector, OGDCL’s production rose by 3.2 percent to 689 MMcfd, while Mari’s gas output increased by 4.7 percent to 1,004 MMcfd.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) also recorded a 0.4 percent increase in oil production, reaching 11,428 barrels per day
